Hub for Educational Excellence Singapore has setup an Education Excellence Framework designed to protect student interests and to build high quality education providers. Aimed primarily at Private Education Institutions, the framework focuses on. The Case Trust for Education Scheme (CASE) gives international students the added assurance that private education institutions have proper systems and practices to look after the welfare and interest of international students. The Student Protection Scheme (SPS), which protects the fees paid by international students is one such initiative. Without the SPS, private education institutions are not permitted to admit international students. In addition, private education institutions which demonstrate organisational excellence are also awarded the 'Singapore Quality Class for Private Education Organisations (SQC-PEO)' trustmark - an assurance of the institution's best academic and business practices.On March, the Singapore Government passed a new set of regulations to help build a better quality private education sector to support Singapore’s position as a global education hub. EduTrust - This replaces the existing CaseTrust for Education scheme and private school operators will be required to renew their registration. Council for Private Education - This new body will investigate and take action against errant private schools. The enhanced registration framework seeks to address existing industry problems relating to poor administration, misrepresentation and even “selling” of qualifications and it would be renewable at regular intervals of between one to six years.
